Dec 01 (TheWrap.com) - The “Fast and Furious” actor Paul Walker was reported to have died on Saturday after his Porsche crashed and exploded.
TMZ cited “multiple sources connected to Paul” that the 40-year-old star lost control of the car and slammed into a post or tree, with the car bursting into flames after the impact. The Associated Press tweeted that Walker's publicist had confirmed to them that Walker was killed in the crash.
A Santa Clarita police department officer confirmed to TheWrap that officers were investigating “significant traffic collision” on Constellation Road at the Rye Canyon loop, but could not confirm a fatality.

Walker is 40, and best known for starring multiple times in the “Fast and Furious” franchise. He is part of the cast of the latest in the series “Fast and Furious 7,” which is still filming.

A spokeswoman for Universal Pictures, which released the movies, was checking the information but had no immediate confirmation.
TMZ cited sources close to the actor saying he was in Santa Clarita for a car show to support the Philippines typhoon relief effort, and had been taking friends out for rides in his new Porsche GT. The accident happened during one of those test spins. The sources told the site that another person besides Walker was in the car.

It was actually pro-racer Roger Rodas red Porsche Carrera GT not Paul Walkers.

I have read where some of the people with him on the same road tried to pull him from the wreck as did Rogers young son. Here is a video that was posted of someone with his group I think just moments after the collision.

Wonder if they were driving like idiots on a public road?

Well somebody on a blog said that stretch of road is an industrial area with a 35 MPH posted limit. I think I'm seeing skid marks that look like about 500 feet or so leading up to where the car landed? In that video when it first starts to roll you can see what looks like faint blackmarks and debris all over the road. So in my estimation there is no way in hell they were doing 35 MPH.

So to answer your question I'd say YES they were either racing or show boating. One of the two.
