Ducks was just defending a buddy of his who is having serious family problems, nothing more nothing less...

I would agree if he had a reason to defend his friend KenKell 1 but no one said anything about his friend ! this started in another thread found here http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?150724-Satcom-tv101 and from there Ducks blew a gasket and staff made a call if this is the same Ducks nick i know from way back then he's a hot head with a temper but i don't know this 4 sure !

OK here is the deal.

As far a I know he has no friends, he runs from site to site using different nicks and stirring up trouble.

he has had many verbal warnings which he paid no attention to

he was giving an infraction a few days ago for acting up. for most that would have been satisfactory and would have settled down. Instead he decided to act up again today and was given a second infraction by me. Well you all know the 3 strike rule. He then decided to threaten me in a PM and continued badgering a member in forums. So I gave him a second infraction for that. So in essence I never banned him, he banned himself.

Now that is enough of this topic so get off the bandwagon now or I will shut down this thread as well and that will be the end of any 101 discussion period

If Duck/Shotgun is a cracker I don't think a ban is going to stop him. It's pretty easy to join as a new nick.
And if he is a cracker and has a vendetta couldn't he shut us down with a DDOS - or does this site have DDOS protection?

I think it only takes one loose canon with a cause and a bit of knowledge and they can shut anybody down. I hope it doesn't happen here - but how do you stop something like this? You've done nothing wrong but if somebody thinks you have wronged them - BANG :-(

One thing I can say is that, it doesn't matter how much some preach to us about leaving 101, we do have a mind of our own and hence can make whatever decision we deem fit to stay or go elsewhere ;)

I don't believe that exchanging opinions is the problem but the problem is ton of the language he used in posts in addition of the words of disrespect he used against members and modes of this site without putting any self control and self respect to himself and ultimately if you don't agree with the rolls of this site then just move where else where they allow bashing and showing no respect to mods and members.

I think it is safe to say there is not one staffer here that would not want to see info posted that helps/protects the members here.
We always seem to run into problems when things are taken personally by posters then it turns into gong show and threads like this go from helpful to battle zones. I am sure everyone means well weather the are posting a warning about a service or saying the warning is wrong we all go off the information as we get it and the sources of that information maybe incorrect but the name calling and the attitude of "I know more then you" gets in the way. I do not blame anyone for coming to the defense of ones friends however this is the internet and no matter how well we think we know someone unless they are people you have met in person face to face we really can not say we know them. And if you feel a friend has been wrongfully accused in a thread rather then turn it into a goofy fight that no one can win send a PM to a staffer so we can find out if said info is correct and if the info can not be verified then we can post that as well for you or delete the iinfo period

Actually you're usually pretty fair Nostradamus and I enjoy reading most of your posts - I just happen to disagree with you on this one :-)

I've followed quite a few different public IKS servers here - and I don't think you can find a post where I bad mouthed any of them.
It's tough enough trying to run a good server without everyone trying to out guess them on what they are doing.
There is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes that most don't have any idea what is going on unless you have ever run a server - and that is probably a good thing - the average guy doesn't care and really shouldn't know.
If any IKS server bared their sole and told everyone what was really going on behind the scenes - that would probably be the end of their business and a lot of their friend's businesses. In other words loose lips sink ships.

There are a lot of small mom and pop entrepeneurs here trying to help people and doing the very best they can. Sometimes they screw up :-( - but most of them are trying their best.

At one time at this site it was forbidden to post anything negative about any service here - you could give the facts but not make a subjective opinion - in other words give the people the facts and let them decide. It seems the site has changed their rules and now adays anyone including mods and admins can dump on anyone without even knowing all the facts. I guess it is up to the site owners to change the rules at any time - but if that is the new rule - in my opinion it won't be sustainable - the loud mouths will take over the site.

I'm willing to bet that if you took a poll right now of all of the 101 clients - most would give them a passing grade - and that is after going through an unusual double or tripple card hit wammy from Dishnet this past week.

sorry Jedi but you are way wrong on me as well. It is surprising the information a person can gather. I really don't care if the server is up or not. That is not a bash. I also haven't bashed them anywhere in this or any thread for that matter. In fact I haven't posted any thing that is not a proven fact unlike a lot of people who had a different view than me on the subject.

where we differ is our opinions. you have blind faith in something you know very little about other than what has been told to you. I on the other hand get my information from other sources. C'est la vie! Like I said, I can care less of what the status is but it is a simple fact I lost all respect for them with that little onshore server faux pas. I dare say there is many more that feel the same way.

now I could go off on a tangent here with a lot of hypothetical conjecture but why bother because there is just some guru with "inside" info who got some free tv to try and lure customers back. Just maybe the day will come when some of these individuals realize where donations really go and they might even feel a little bit of remorse for that.

I don't have a clue what a panel looks like so my wording was probably wrong there but the info I seen had user - pass- expired date. Looks to be a lot maybe close to a 1000 or more. All that info had to come from somewhere.
