VideoLAN has just rolled out a new version of its flagship multimedia player that now brings improvements on all platforms, including Windows and Mac.
According to the official release notes, VLC 2.1.2 comes to fix digital playback (SPDIF/HDMI) on Windows, while also comprising improvements for the built-in decoders and video filters.
For example, the new build address bugs found when playing videos from Vimeo and DailyMotion, as well as various WMV playback improvements and fixes.
The Win32 installer has been updated to kill the running VLC process when uninstalling or updating the application, while video filters have been enhanced with fixes for crashes occurred on deinterlace selection.
Plenty of updated translations are also included in the new release, including revised language files for Basque, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, French, Hungarian, and Icelandic.
