what a joke, the only way I can go to a different server in the menu is to change my "SERVER: text file to "1" and replace the old PS with a "0" then reload the CHLIST-S back to the box..... the menu system with this box is very Crappy!!!
I need to get another box, but I'm sure it won't be a T5. I'm sure that box has the same bullcrap menu...

I've recommended 20+ of them to friends and with the exception of the screwy signal meter it performs flawlessly and the hd picture is exceptional!

How the other fta hd (way more expensive) boxes are surviving beats the hell out of me.

And the SIZE? Compare it to the 3-4000 HD, the nFusion nuvenio HD, the Viewsonic HD etc.! It fits everywhere and the external power supply is the best idea!

IMHO Chris

no doubt the t5 works great but the picture lacks compared some of the other new HD units available and that is the most important feature for me and the guide leaves alot to be desired, with all the options available imo there are better choices to be made just for the pic quality alone not to mention features the dreamlink will never have such as wifi and media player to name a couple, many who have the dreamlink have never played with other HD receivers and think it is the best out there being the only HD receiver tested but if you have used other HD receiver's it is easy to see the dreamlink is not the best bang for your buck, if the size of the receiver is a selling point than dreamlink can compete, lol, this is just my opinion and I have or at least had a chance to test almost every HD box available form old to new, the only new HD receiver I have not got my hands yet is the prosat, compared to others the dreamlink is not my first choice and there are better receiver's to get for your money, again just my opinion, to each their own

Well said, I totally agree. The guide sucks. I've been testing since my first FTA box was a Fortec Star. So I have been able to see and use different boxes.

The guide on my Viewsat Extreme 2000 is better that the Dreamlink HD!

So Bobby, Which box do you prefer for the picture quality and guide?

I just fired up my old Nfusion Solaris and that nfusion guide rocks compared to the DreamLink-HD.

You even get a little bar graph that tells you how are you are into a show.
Ya my Dreamlink HD is not a bad unit, very dependable, but even my sonic view and Viewsat still has a better guide!

I don't like the fact that when you are in "EPG" and you move ahead on the time line, there is no way to read the whole movie description.

I'd never buy another dreamlink again.

complained about the guide in the t4 version which was no good ,dreamlink coders never could fix it,it sounds like the same problem with the guide in the new version (funny how some were stating guide works great hmmm must be sellers)
viewsat had a good guide ,even the old nano premium had a better guide

how are the HD channels on the Solaris and Viewsat?

Who said anything about HD?? ;-)

I just have the SD Nfusion and Viewsat, But I hear the HD are very good on both.

So the only thing you are gaining by buying a dreamlink HD is the fact you don't have to use NOI or something like that.

Man, you just seem to have a classic case of the red a$$ with this unit. I have one and it is the one of the best HD pictures out there. And I just don't understand all the pissing and moaning about the guide. Mine works adequately. Is it good or great, No, but did you really buy the DL for the friggin guide? If you don't like it, sell it.

I could have sworn this is/was the "DREAMLINK HD" forum. So when you say that you switched BACK to an older SD box that works better, I have to ask, "What about the HD channels?"

Even with the EPG and Signal meter problem I find the Dreamlink HD picture exceptional! I been asked for and installed more Dreamlink HD boxes that ANY other kind. I am not a dealer selling anything to anyone. They ask my opinion and if they can't install their choice, on their own, they ask me. I make no profit selling any FTA The individual person buys what they want, and practically all want the Dreamlink HD. And even with the Dreamlink HD T5's drawbacks I expect that to continue with the Dreamlink HD T5!

CMANGLE I have to totally agree with you and the rest with their positive comments on this box. I've had 2 units for almost 2 years now and for the most they work great. EPG, well it works, Recording, I've seen better, but the picture is great. The HD quality rivals that of direct BlueRay. This is the reason I purchased the device, that and it does save me a ton of $$ over sat and cable. Like anything change is hard to handle for some, but, once you get use to it it is a great device. On a side note, now that it is stable I don't really care if they do firmware updates. I get my great signal and that is the part that counts.

I do like the picture quality on my Dreamlink DH, yes it is very very good. I just think the EPG is lacking BAD.
I have had good service out of this Dreamlink and do recommend the box to peeps that aren't too worried about the EPG.
Thing of it is, most people want a very good EPG

As for a better picture than Bul-Ray, I thought 1080p is 1080p no matter where it originates from. Maybe I'm wrong, if I am please explain.

and YES, sooner or later I will be selling this Dreamlink when somebody can tell me what unit has a great picture and a great guide.
is it the pinwheel?

Guys there is nothing wrong with any DL epg just press epg and then on guide menu press the yellow buttom it will take you to 239channel DN ,do not touch your remote for at least 5m and then you will see the guide info in advance the longer you let sit on that channel the more guide in advance you will have .

Just used the epg to check out to Thursday, I guess if it spoke out the programs that were on that would help for the visually impaired lol.

to my thinking, Blu ray can't get any better, and is the same or better than a satellite box.

and, if I'm not mistaken, there is compression of the signal on Satellite and Cable that is not with Blueray. Degrades the picture a tad.
