How to attach cat 5 to 8000hd?

I have a Linkbox 8000hd,
Do I attach the cat 5 using a patch cord from serial to cat 5?I want to use with NFPS. Is it a regular patch cord or a null modem cord?
Any help would be appreciated

just plug your cat 5 right into the receiver. should be a ethernet port right on the back of it.

he 800 hd does not have a ethernet port or wifi -only a serial port

Thats the local--the plus also has it but I didn't know they made just a 8000hd when I ordered this boat anchor that has no ethernet port and no wifi--ordered from a reputable dealer in Ca--I have a call in to return it

Linkbox 8000hd doesn't have an ethernet port but not necessary as you can connect with wifi.

Of all 3 linkbox 8000 models 1 of them don't have LAN port you use a patch for enable Wi-Fi..... TurboPirate

Thanks for the reply Turbo. I just opened my 8000hd but could not see where a module could be inserted. Is there any way to make this box compatible with iks?
