View Full Version : Scramble channel / Low signal
Ive got a dreamlink t5 HD and I cant seem to get the Signal above 75 no matter what I try. Also some Channels dont work at all and the ones that do will just stop and say scramble channel. Im not sure if its my server or my signal thats causing the problem. I currently have the receievr hooked up to the 110 and 119 sats.
Could it be my coax cable going to the dish is not high enough quality, the dish is about 60ft from the receiver.
Thanks for your help.

i dont know if this belongs here but i have been having issues on my t5 when ever i went to watch some hd channels.....currently using 110/119....it would stay on for like 20 seconds then go no or bad signal .........i would have to turn off then back on and switch to a sd channel .......like i said this just started in the past few days, anyone else have this issue.
and i did reboot .....factory set and re-scanned my both sat back in. .......still acting the same way.
any suggestions ?

Dish? LNBs? If 1000.2 then do you have power inserter?
Sounds like an overheating issue. That means your LNBs taking more power than the T5 is capable of delivering. Example is the 1000.2. It takes 720-750ma to run that LNB. T5 is only capable to 450ma.
Running the T5 on an HD channels will cause it to run hotter even if the LNBs don't take any more power.
Have you tried a laptop cooler?
Im only using a 500 dish with dual LNBs, I dont have the HD set up yet. Where can you order power inserter?

You don't need a power insereter for this set up.
Why don't you post your settings then maybe someone can give other possible solutions.

I'm curious about the HD statement. If you have 119 and 110 then you should have some HD as long as the HD module has been installed.

The HD module hasnt been installed yet, It will be tomorow. Could it be I need the power inserter since my coax going to the dish is about 60ft long? Ive read that the dreamlink puts out barely enough power.

To be honest I've never heard of someone trying to run the box without the dl100 installed but i doubt a 60ft run would cause to many issues as long as there is no failure in the line.
Sounds like you maybe getting all you can out of the box until the dl100 is installed.

you shouldnt need pwr inserter...the stb seems particular on switches in some cases..to achieve better sig use a sat finder or other box..

I've been having the same problem, I'm in the middle of running a test. Yesterday I turned off Auto TP Update in the Options menu. So far so good. Give it try, and let us know.
Well I definitely need a power inserter, I just hooked up my dreamlink to my bell dish that's getting 100% on my bell receiver and I only got 74%. So I found my problem.

No, you have not. 75% signal is not really an issue, i suggest you do the dl100 install then do a factory reset and rescan before you start looking to spend money on a power inserter. These boxes are not sat finders and i wouldn't depend on the boxes S&Q as the gospel.
As i said, finish your install, then look at possible fixes.
Your choice though, good luck.

Most receivers should work OK down to 45 to 50% on the "Q" and if your looking at the "S" then it's not the problem, the "S" is the signal from the LNB to the receiver not the decoded signal from the sat that gives to the "Q" reading.
60 feet is OK on 80% of the LNB's out there,(depending on the coax) old legacy LNB's may have a problem if the coax is getting old or has a cracked jacket that let some water in.
2 LNB's (and a switch) should not be a problem for that receiver 3 LNB's will/may be.
And trying to compare a Bell receiver to an FTA receiver as far as signal is like apples and watermelon's.
Well I think I might not even have a t5 since I just got my sk200 module and it doesn't match the board on the receiver, here's the picture of my receiver, is this a t5? 20545

yes you have a T5, sk200 module doesnt go in a T5 that goes in the DLHD V1-4
Yup I talked to the supplier and returned my sk200 and have a dl100 on the way.

Options, turn off auto tp works for my t5,thanks bigdaddyo.
Still no luck, I have plenty of signal channel 101 works fine. The only thing that would make sense is that its a server problem, But Im connected and my rep said theres nothing he can do.

Is the dl100 installed yet, if not this is pointless.
No it is not, but it worked before I changed to the new server, How could the dl100 affect it?

use the make2dream app to load server info
Reloaded the server info twice, connected both times but I still only get scramble channel, Im starting to get frustrated with this, Im going to need to try another IKS provider.

Before you go crazy ask your p$ to change ports before anything else.
