Hello,
I'm sorry that I don't have the full details or model #'s. I'm going to my friends house this weekend to install a Dreamlink T5. He lives pretty far from me so I need to be as prepared as possible ahead of time and avoid multiple trips. Currently, he is a subscriber of D*sh and gets the Indian channels as well. He says he has a 4-bird lnb that is a single unit, not 4 eyes popping out but one. So in order to get his Indian channels I will have to grab 118. I usually only deal with 110, 119, and 129. We have to assume that the installation is proper and everything pointed properly. Now my question: Will this type of LNB work with our FTA receivers? Is it legacy or Pro lnb? Or are there both kinds?

I'm not sure what dish he has as the "not 4 eyes" for 4 satellites confuses me as usually each eye is aimed at a different satellite other than 119/118. Satellites are in an arc approximately 30000 miles up and need an ln b positioned apart to follow the arc on a dish unless the dish is motorized. In any case whether the dish has ln b that are legacy, dp or d pp the box will work with those lnb. Hopefully his dish is aimed at something in the western arc as I don't believe any p$ are using the eastern arc. good luck

Missed a digit for approximate sat distance.

Sounds like the dish is a Dish 1000+.
LNB type would be DishPro Plus.
119 would be on port 1
110 port 2
I think 118.7 is port 3 and 129 port 4. That is if it is a newer dish with built in switch, older 1000+ used DP 44 switch.

A t5 will not be able to power that lnb unless it has a power inserter or a dp44

since there's a subbed ird hooked up already, power should not be an issue.

The correct switching would be,

119 = port #1
110 = port #2
129 = port #3
118 = port #4

Subbed IRD needs to be on the #1 LNB port to power the LNB correctly.

I just bought a dreamlink T5. I could not find Echostart 119 or 110 in the selection of satelite. Can anyone please comment on this. Matter of fact there no ECHOSTAR selection at all. Am I missing something?

Please start your own thread next time. You just hijacked someone elses. As for you issue, did you load the latest file to your unit and then factory default? You will not see those sats unless you do.
