how do you say goodbye to a loved one ?

There is no way to say good-bye bro. I lost my sister at the age of 51 to breast cancer. She was prepared for her death. All you could do is be beside her always and make her feel as comfortable as you can.

sorry to hear it man. :( The guys are right though there really is no way to say good bye and it is a matter of being there for her. As hard as it is to lose someone and knowing what they are going through at least you do have the opportunity to spend some time together, unlike losing somebody unexpectedly and never even having that chance. It sounds like you are really close. Just being there is enough. No words necessary :)

I took months off work to spend time with my Mum when she was dying and I spent every minute I could with her.We had some great conversations and I have many memories which I'll take to my grave.That is the best gift you can give her.

The hard part is she's 3000 miles away and I can't afford to be next to her. all I can do is talk to her on the phone when she's awake and tell her I love her so much. god I wish I could be with her but we did get Samantha her granddaughter my great niece a ticket to see her and be by her side. after years apart we just started becoming family again.

Sorry to hear BBB.. i just lost a sister a few months ago , so if you cant be with her , make a home made card and sent it to her , so she can look at it every day bud...that would be something anyone would love to see and read bud...sorry again ...

There is no good way to say goodby to a loved one that I know of , but you can say " till we meet again" .

BBB even if you cant travel to be besides her, your presence on the phone is what she and you need.. Relationships are based on shared time and experiences.. Give her all the time and love that you can.. It"s hard to see a loved one leaving us, but we have to face the facts and spend as much time as we can with them.. These last moments with them will be with us for the rest of our days.. I had a similar experience as Torpainter a few years back. Took 6 months off to spend them with my dad that was dying from mesothelioma.

Make sure you let her know that, and that YOU know that....

Listen to every word she speaks, AND Remember Them.....Encourage them, Recite them to her for her comfort in knowing SHE IS HEARD...
