You can buy a dongle to connect them wireless.

The receiver can be used without the module but only for True Free to Air. For DN you will need to have the module to decode the HD Channels which are turbo.

With the cost of HD receivers nowadays, you might as well just buy a new HD receiver. If this was 5 yrs ago or even 3 yrs ago, I would say buy a dongle, but you can get a Dreamlink HD (doesn't have to be the T5) for a very reasonable price.

Having said all that, I would recommend Dreamlink. If $$$ is an issue, try getting the original Dreamlink HD as it will be cheaper because it is older. However because it is such a great receiver, ppl might not be selling them which would force you to buy the current T5 model.

Another option too is Jynxbox.

Those are the only 2 receivers that I would recommend

Is the module made for the T5 or any module like 8psk for viewsat works with did too

I m still puzzled with receiver maker why don't they make a receiver with all in gadget so no need to add separate modules for HD or wifi or let say all in 1 box . just a thought

The pinwheel has a TERRIFIC picture - better than 8000 and VS 9000 and yes it may be better than the nFusion HD
and the best SD picture I have ever seen

That said it is a little strange to run but is does work

FTA receivers are perfectly legal to buy (consumer) and sell (retailer) assuming that they come direct from the factory and designed to work with OTA (which is why they are legal). The 8PSK is a module that makes the receiver illegal to buy and sell as its sole purpose is to de-crypt secured signals like DN and BEV. The 8PSK has no other purpose other than that which is why as a retailer you'd be an absolute retard to sell as you'd be shut down in a heartbeat.

This is not entirely true. The turbo-8psk module is required to decode a turbo-8psk encoded satellite transmission. It has nothing at all to do with decryption of the content though. Any satellite provider with the appropriate transponders on their satellite can use turbo-8psk coding, and I'm surprised that more don't, because it uses bandwidth more efficiently = more channel capacity.

It just so happens that no pure FTA sats use turbo-8psk. It seems like a bit of a stretch to say it is illegal to sell a turbo 8psk tuner though, seeing as how they are all over ebay and the sales don't get shut down. Also, genpix has been selling turbo-8psk tuners for years. Perhaps selling them together with a receiver somehow puts it just over the legal gray line?

I agree, but the point is that an FTA receiver is designed for one purpose and that is OTA which doesn't need a 8PSK. So by adding an 8PSK to a FTA receiver, everyone knows what your intentions are and that just leads to potential trouble
