Hi guy's, I'm looking to buy a new stb and was hoping someone knows if the t5 runs a motor ok. I have an sg2100, 36" dish with Invacom lnb. 50' of good rg6 cable. Also, where is the best place to buy the t5, and the sk100???
Thanks for any info.

I run a T5 with a Stab Motor N It turns the motor Slooooow Brother. I can hook it to the Limesat or NFusion n a few more n it Turns Fast but the T5 doesn't have the Power to turn the motor the older ones do.

Check the LNB input "F" connector on the back of the T5, look for the DC current rating.
Some FTA receivers may have a 350 to 400 mA MAX, but 95% of the others will have a 500 mA max.
The SG2100 motor has a 200 mA nominal to 350 mA maximum DC current rating, the same for the Stab Motor.
However the speed that the Diseqc motor turns is based on the transponder polarity that the receiver is looking at at the time, "H" polarity transponders are switched between +15.5 volts DC to +19 volts DC, "V" polarity transponders switched between +11.5 VDC to +14 VDC.
So you can see the broad range of DC voltage that the Diseqc motors can expect, the lower the DC voltage the slower the motor will turn, but the DC current will remain the same.
If you are going to use a Diseqc motor you should use the good RG-6 coax with a PURE copper center conductor, there will be less DC voltage drop at the motor, some coax has a copper plated steel center, this type of coax can cause a lower then normal DC voltage at the motor.
This in some cases can cause it to turn slower then normal.

Thanks for the explanation, that's great!!! Hey, buy the way...My T5 has been running 100% using my motor. FTA channels working fine and quite fast movement between sats. I'm quite pleased:yeaah:
