dp won't get 118
dp won't get 118
Do you mean just this pinwheel mini receiver won't get a 118 signal with DPP?
It does work fine with other receivers - I use it with a Dreambox 500 without any problems - either with the built in switch or the older style LNB with 3 separate ports and using either DiSEqC or DP34 switch.
I can't get it to work with a pinwheel though and have been waiting for a new bin file to see if they can fix it.

118 is a special satellite, you need a combo LNB, one that has 119 and 118 in one LNB, if the DPP your talking about has both then there is a problem somewhere in the system.
But if you do not have the special LNB to properly receive 118 then there is no way you will get the 118 satellite.
A Dish Pro 500 will get two satellites,110W and 119W or 82W and 91W, a Dish Pro PLUS will get 3, 110W, 118W and 119W, 118 and 119 are co-located (118 is really at 118.8) and have to be received with the special LNB.
A Dish Pro Plus is a bigger then normal dish, this is to receive the lower powered 118.8 satellite signals.
ftatv0001 said his friend has a DPP 500 Pro dish with the built in switch - I assumed he has the new DPP 500+ dish if he is sometimes getting the 118 signal
.
I have the DPP 500+ that gets 119-110-118.7 - I have tried both the newer LNB with the built in switch and also the older style without the built in switch and I can't get it to work with my pinwheel. I've tried DiSEqC, DP34 and DP44 switches with power inserter and the only signal I can get is the 110 satellite.
It works perfect with my DreamBoxes, Kbox, jnxbox and subbed receivers - so I know it is not the dish, LNB or switches.
I only have the one pinwheel mini to test with - so there may be something wrong with my receiver - but I have heard other reports of people having the same problem with the pinwheel mini with this type of dish.

All I can go by is what he posted, I try not to assume anything anymore in some of these posts.
You can take a standard LNB and receive some of the higher transponders on 118.8W, I can with my Invacom QPH-031 when set to the circular mode get the last 4 or 5 transponders off 118.
I can also get one or two with a DP type LNB, but I use big dishes to start with, less signal problems that way.
On the Dish 500+ the LNB for 118/119 LO needs to be set to 10750 for it to work correctly, if it's set to 11250 you wont get 118 or 119.

Thank you all for you try
i am in this hobby for last 7 years and i do setup properly its get good signal and quality with slimsat STB without any issue only pinwheel not working.
i know this is Pinwheel issue i thought maybe some one have solution for this issue thats why i post it here but there is no solution for this now until they come out with new bin that has fix for this issue.
Pinwheel work fine with older DP lnb with Diseqc 4x1 Switch on all satellite 110 118.7 and 119 and 129.

Yes that seems to be the consensus ftatv0001 - there are a lot of us waiting for them to bring out a new bin file to see if it will fix our signal problems.
DreamBoxes are also pretty finicky when it comes to setting them up for different types of dishes - it takes a bit of work to get them to work properly.
I can take any DreamBox and get it to work with my dishes without a problem - but this pinwheel has me befuddled :-)
Like I said I may just have a bad receiver or more likely a bad tuner - but there seems to be a lot of people reporting the same type of problem with these pinwheels.

ftatv001 or Jedi, any chance you would share your configuration on your Diseqc 4x1 switch?

Hi
sorry for re-opening an old thread but i am currently facing the same problem
i used to have a dish 1000.2 connected to power inserter on port 1 and to pinewheel mini on port 3 ,and everything was working perfect
i wanted to add 118.7w so i bought a new dish 500+ with built in switch and an extra dual dishpro lnbf for 129w
i removed my 1000.2 dish and installed my new 500+ ,and all i can get is zero signal on all sats 110w,118.7w,119w and 129w
anyone can advice if it's possible for the pinewheel to work with dish 500+ with internal switch?
thanks
regards

If you didnt change anything as to the switching for the D1000 setup then it should be working fine, did you use the DC power inserter?
Switching should be the same, Diseqc port # 1 = 119, Diseqc port # 2 = 110, Diseqc port # 3 = 129, and Diseqc port # 4 would be for 118.
Power inserter needs to go to the #1 port on the LNB, just like the D1000 setup did.

yes i used my power inserted on port 1 ,and i have used the correct diseqc settings ,but still no signal at all !!

Did you power everything down before disconnecting the coax to the LNB
And if you didn't change anything as far as the LNB settings (OCS-DP or Dish) then something is wrong, try hooking the D1000 LNB and setup back up, see what that does.
If it works then there could be someting wrong with the D500+ setup.
Another thing you can try is the second LNB input on the D1000 LNB, us it for the 118 LNB with it still on the D500+ dish.
