Don't think it is the t5, rather the server disconnecting
Download speed is steady 5m. upload 1m. Server says no all other computers and magic jack works fine

try rebooting your modem/router or both if you have a modem and a router
I have done this many times and also changed out the router three times. Thanks Holly

The server I was referring to was the P$ server. Most/some servers are/were having a problem with connecting/disconnecting just in general and more because it is e c m Thursday. Check with your p$ forum to see if anyone else is having problem. good luck
Would it help to clear the T5 and reenter all the info?

I looked at your past posts and noticed that you were on broadband. You need a little more than .5 upload to not have intermittent tv. If you are using beaver at this time for north, then that service is very intermittent now and will be for another day. I'd like to know what kind of antenna you are using for broadband as I may be able to increase your upload or make it more stable. You could pm me with a little info on your broadband antenna and or wait another day to see if your p$ stops freezing. good luck
To check my internet connection on my T5 if I connected to another internet sever would the T5 show a connect without putting the IKS server ifo again?

How are you connecting the T5 to the internet, via WIFI or CAT5 cable?
If via WIFI then something could be interfering with the WIFI signals to the T5, a cordless phone can do this as they run at the same frequency's, (2.5 GHz) try a temporary direct to the router connection with a CAT5 cable and see if the problems go away, if they do then it's time for a 5.6 GHz cordless phone, that fixed all of my drop outs on my laptops.
Is there a signal booster for cat 5 internet cable?

Is there a signal booster for cat 5 internet cable?
Why would you need a signal booster for a wired connection? Running over 100 feet? If running less than that, no need for a signal booster.
Running 70ft cat5 cable to wall plug and a jumper to T5
At one time I had the T5 a lot closer to the router and had no connection problems.

Unplug the box and then plug it back in using different internet connection will work without changing any info. Signal booster not necessary unless you are more than 300 feet.

1. - how do you know what is a high and / or low server load time?
2. - it is not your LAN cable length. It could possibly be pinched and have an intermittent break though
3. - how many other devices you have connected to that router?
-----------------
possible solutions:
replace LAN cable
check router settings for timeouts
faster internet connection if it is being shared among more than one device at a time
The T5 will not connect when nothing is connected to the router. The T5 will sometime connect when I have my magic jack and three computers running.
Thanks Whoknowns The T5 is connect now. When it disconnects again I will connect theT5 closer to the router. If that don!t work I will check it out on another internet connection

One solid run of CAT5 to the router is the best way, coupling two together may cause problems.
CAT6 cable would be better, or CAT5 with a shield would also be a good choice.
Stuff like this....

I use CAT5 inside a run of EMT conduit, it goes out to the shop,(run under ground) the shop is about 1000 feet from the router, I use a 5 port network switch at the end at the shop, with 2 PC's and 2 laptops attached at that end, works great.
It is a single run from the router to the wall connection and it still will not connect. I just moved the T5 next to the router within ten feet and it would not connect???

not sure about that model but many receivers have small activity lights around the LAN port and if so you should look to see if there are lights flashing around the LAN port when it is trying to connect. Possible it is a hardware problem with the receiver as well

What wall connection?????? It should go right from the back of the router directly to the T5 receiver.....
rj45 connection mounted in the wall. But I have connected the T5 direct to the router. he light on the internet wire do flicker.

One last question from me:
Who do you use for an ISP?
Never had a connection problem like this before. I think it is the T5 receiver.

I have noticed my hardwired connection bouncing on and off for the last day or so. Was working great/consistent the last few weeks. Not sure what is going on exactly. I thought maybe it was the P$ causing it at first (and part of it may have been).

I don't have your receiver but I disagree that the receiver is the problem. As I mentioned before you do need .5 steady upload you lose connection with iks. I know this from having broad band for many years. If you have other people downloading when you are watching tv it will increase your problem. My guess is you have signed on for 5 down and 1 up which is ok if the service(up) is consistent and you have no one else downloading when you are watching tv. jmo
I can go 10m down and 2m up for about $10.00 more per month if that would take care of the problem???

Alls you can do is try and see if that is the problem which it probably is if you have more then just one computer running and using your bandwidth at the same time

Where and when do you see this error message?? Does this message appear on the screen?? Do you get a scrambled channel message on the screen?? which service do you use? I have people on basic T1 service with no issues with their server connections but I did get a T5 recently and I have been having connection issues with it. I have a 50 meg service. I get a scrambled channel and when I go into the menu and check the network status, it will say ethernet un-pluged.
I get the scrambled message on my tv screen when first turning the unit on, I get can not connect to server when I go into the server info. I can shut the receiver off in the back over night and the next morning it will connect for different amounts of time. I have beaver service. What is basic T1 service?

Turn unit on and leave on when connected. When you don't want to watch simply change your settings on your tv for your back up source.
I do leave the unit on until it disconnects?

The basic T1 service is a 1.5 mbit sync internet connection. When you go into your network settings, do you see an ethernet-unpluged error message?? Do you have your ip info still there when you get these messages??

thats what I did. I left it running all night and I got up to watch the bronze game this morning and poof came scrambled channel.
No internet unplugged just internet can not connect.
thats different from my issues then. during this internet cannot connect message, are other devices on your network working fine?? does the receiver still retain the ip info? do you have a backup receiver to try when this one is having issues?? I attribute my issue to the receiver because my two other receivers work fine when this one has that ethernet un-pluged error. I run a continuous ping on my laptop and I can ping the url with no problem.
It does maintain the ip address. I do not have a backup receiver . All my computers and my magicjack phone works fine.
which service do you use?? try a running ping from your computer to the service ip or url during the time the receiver is reporting internet not connected. That will give an idea if the service server is actually down.
Digisi. I know my service is up because I am running two computers and my magicjack phone
Check for too much heat. Turn off power overnight and back on in the morning and see if it works. Mine looses signal after an hour or two. A cooling fan helps a lot.

I have a nice small fan I put on any of my machines that is running. Either way, I have sent the unit to my seller and they have a local tech that is going to have a look at the Ethernet port. I can remove and solder a new Ethernet jack on there but that will break the warranty seal. We will have the final verdict when they done with it.
I have a laptop fan under my and there is no heat at all. My receiver runs sometimes for five hours before it will disconnect from server??? I also have a Nano HD running on this server and it never disconnects???

bill i have a cheap cure for the heat prob, cut 2 pieces of wood 3/4 by 3/4. 6 in long put under rec at right angle from the front out side edge,it worked for me...
Like I stated in post 48. I am not having a heat problem with the laptop fan under the T5.
I ran my receiver for a few weeks before it start not connecting to the internet. At that time I was running the receiver without the rubber heatsink for module. I never noticed the receiver running hot when I was running without the heat sink. Is it possible there was heat that damaged the receiver and caused the not connecting to server???
I received the result from my seller. I got home today from my last stint in the field to find out the unit has a faulty board and that is why it will not retain the ip. They tried to replace just the ethernet but did not work. Its the chipset embedded on the board. So if anyone is having symptoms like the ones I described earlier in this thread, it could be a faulty chipset on the board so contact your seller...since there is no contact info for the manufacturer.
