24 Hours Of Le Mans Entry List Released

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) released this week the entry list for the 82nd annual 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Featuring 55 entries plus the experimental Nissan ZEOD RC as the Garage 56 entrant, this year’s around-the-clock endurance classic will see a number of new and returning faces in all four classes.

A total of 10 cars are set to take part in LMP1, headlined by the new-for-2014 factory prototypes from Audi, Porsche and Toyota, while Lotus and Rebellion enter non-hybrid privateer cars that will fight for top class honors in the new LMP1-L class.

Twelve cars are set to do battle in GTE-Pro, which merges the top contenders from both the FIA World Endurance Championship and TUDOR United SportsCar Championship together. Factory entries from Corvette Racing and SRT will again make the trip to France to compete against works efforts from Porsche, Ferrari and Aston Martin.

GTE-Am sees a 16-car grid, with notable entries from Dempsey-Proton Competition, which will see Hollywood actor/racer Patrick Dempsey make his third Le Mans start, as well as U.S.-based 8Star Motorsports, the only full-season FIA World Endurance Championship team flying the stars and stripes of America.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled for June 14-15, with live coverage on the FOX Sports family of networks.
