Hi I have everything set up but when it comes to connecting server it just won't connect I tried changing the channel to 300 and wait and nothing also did the reboot from the back button and I also connected the receiver straight to the modem but nothing.

Any help or advice I could get would be greatly apprecciatted.

Thanks

Are you connected to your network? Why ch.300? Use 200. You have to make sure you are connected to your network so the server has something to connect to. Once you have made sure you are connected to your network, try to connect your server. Then go to ch. 200 and wait.

Thanks Daryld. I am connected to my network wifi and directly from the modem but wont conect. I read somewhere else to go to channel 300 and if that didn't work do a reboot from the back button of the receiver but that didn't work either. I also tried reseting the modem and router . I just tried what you told me but is not doing anything I keep geting the same 3 channel (block vlcty and a dish network channel) the ones without the $ sign.
Thanks for your help I will continue to do some more reading and questioning. Hopefully I can get this thing going soon.

You know, the most common reason for not connecting to your ps is that you have copied the information incorrectly. I would suggest you just go back and make sure everything is exactly as it was sent to you.....good luck!

c/p from txsgent

Here you go. for an Linkbox.. my way....lol

Factory Default.. ( to factory default. Menu... Tools... Arrow to the Right to Factory Setting. Highlight and click OK.. password.. 0000 then select yes... to do it...
Hard Reset/Reboot.... You turn the rear switch.. off and wait a few.. to drain the capacitors.. just a little.. then turn it back on again. .that Is a Hard Reset/Reboot of the receiver...

I believe.. you should do this before and after
installing any file....... I base this on over 200 Receivers.. and 70 percent of them had at least 10 or more files loaded on them... so.. I feel comfortable suggesting doing it this way..
Factory Default-Hard Reboot-Install File-Factory Default-Hard Reboot

Once you Get a Private $$$erver... they will provide you with info.. to do this with your receiver..
Menu.... arrow down to tools... with tools highlighted.. enter 8282
hit enter... you will now have entered a hidden access for setting up a server.. you arrow to the right and up until you see Network Server.. highlite and hit OK

Now you will have this screen here
Network Server
Network Server......arrow to the right or left.. until you see this... newcamd
Newcamd Client........................................GENE RIC
Network Server List
ULR Type...........................you have 2 choices.. by arrowing right or left.. these 2
String.... or Number (String is or alpha(letters) and alpha(letters/numbers)... Numbers is for Numerical addresses such as (example..... 111.111.111.111) (no letters..just numbers)
URL..............................you highlite and hit enter... Pay attention to the bottom of the screen.. things like.. Red button changes from caps to lower case and back again.. Yellow is Deltete for when you enter the wrong thing.. .. Blue is for OK (When you are done entering your info and you 10000% CORRECT you then hit the blue button to save it and go to the next line
Port..............................highlite and hit OK... you will have 2 lines.. enter the same Port number in both lines.. the arrow to OK and hit ok on remote..
User...............Do the same as you did with address
Password........ do the same as you did with address..
Key Data.................this is a 28 digit (numbers) you enter exactly as given to you..
Every line has to be 1000% correct.. or it will not work...

Now.. when you are setting up your receiver sat locations.. you need to know what kind of LNBs.. what kind of switch.. if any... to use the correct settings..

Menu....... Installation.................Satellite List..... select the satellites you are setting up.. such as.. 110 and 119.. .and 118.. you want... these choices
Echo 14 W 119.0
Anik F3-Ku...........W 118.0
Echo 10/11..........W 110.0
put a check mark next to each of them . then exit out and go to Antenna Setup

Antenna Setup
Satellite.............................select one of your 3 satellites.. I always start with 119
LNB Freq........................... Dish Pro LNB(11250) For Dish Pro and DPPlus LNBs.. you use 11250 for Legacy LNBs (for 118.8) if it is is Dish Pro or DPPlus. you use.. DishPro LNB(10750) for Legacy you use... 10750
Transponder..................119 (12297).............110(12224).................118 .8(7) (10750)
DiSEqC 1.0....................119( Port1)...............110(Port 2).................118.8(7) (Port 3)
DiSEqC 1.1.......................Disable on all 3 sats
22K..................................Off on all 3 sats
Polarity............................Auto for all 3 sats
Multi SW .........................None on all 3 sats.. (unless using a SW Switch)
Motor DiSEqC ....................Disable (unless you are using a motor...)
You need to have 2 things these are set in stone.. BEFORE you SCAN....
Signal Strength on the Signal Quality Meter.. high 90s is best
You must see right under the Signal Quality Meter right side..
VERIFICATION.. of the EXACT same satellite as you are setting up.. (has to be the same)
then you can scan.. by hitting the blue button..

I hope that helps you understand just a little better.
good luck..
Always ask when not sure.. No stupid questions here)
