S10 - Mode Not Supported

When my buddy boots up his S10 it apparently boots up fine but he can't see anything on his TV screen but "Mode not supported". I took it to my house and got video but back at his place none. Tried both HDMI and AV cables, same results. Any ideas?

change the resolution on the unit, sounds like maybe he is in 1080 and his tv doesn't support that
