I live in the central U.S. and have a 10ft mesh BUD with C and KU LNB's installed and connected to a 922 doing 4DTV.

I saw a diagram for putting in the switches and cables to feed it to both a FTA receiver and my 4DTV 922 receiver so I can add True FTA to my 4DTV setup.

I have an old Fortec FTA receiver also so i'm set if I decide to go ahead and do that.

My question is, if I can get True FTA through that setup why couldn't I instead connect this up to a CNX or Kbox, do I need to install a special KU LNB to replace the one already on my BUD feedhorn if its doable?

You could setup your cnx or kbox if you wanted to. O ne of two choices, circular lnb with your frequency set to 11250 or low band circular lnb with frequency at 10750. In the case of the latter, you could also pick up the int. channels at 118.8.
If it's just for true fta, a linear lnb will be required or an invacom quad will pull in both linear and circular.
It would be possible on your bud by somehow fastening the lnb next to your feed- sats will probably be off a couple of degrees depending on what side of your feed you put the lnb.
Finally, you could setup a 39"-48" motorised dish seperate of your bud.

Thanks for the reply.

My BUD feedhorn is a special C/KU/DBS model, it has the regular BUD C and KU LNB's and it also has a DBS LNB built into the ring but I don't get Directv.

I'm debating to cut into the ring and remove that DBS LNB and I was thinking I could put a DN LNB in that spot on the ring.

Is there a special LNB in particular that I should put in there or should I just put a standard DN single LNB in there for using with CNX or Kbox tv?

Standard single lnb will do fine, as I mentioned in my previous post, you may need to nudge the dish a bit either way.

Yeah, I will keep that in mind that its off center and bump it if necessary.

Thanks for your help, I may get started on that soon with spring coming up.
