View Full Version : can not connect to server
A member said he was having connect problems and he added a fan. Is it possible that the connect problem could be heat related? I can shut my T5 at night and it works the next morning for awhile. Is there a heat sink that is made for the T5. I did add a laptop fan this morning to see if that solves the problem? Looked in the T5 box and found the heat sink I did not install when I installed the module. Hope the heat did not damage my receiver.

Did you not get a rubber heat sink that goes on top of the module that that should have came with it
Hi Holly I took the top of the receiver off and there is nothing over the top of module. I am sure I installed everything that came with the module. Thanks for replying. Bill
I thought the heat sink and laptop cooler would solve my server connect problem but it did not. So guess it is not a heat problem. Guess my next move will be change internet service?

your internet service is not likely the problem, change your IP to "Static" and prioritize your receivers IP on the Qos section on your router.
I don!t know anything about how to change setting in the router. I shut the receiver off from the back this morning I just turned it back on and it connected. I did change the settings from dhcp to static and it is still running.

ok, try the link below, once you log in to your router open the Qos tab and add your receivers IP to the first line, save and exit, that is all there is to it, what that does is it gives your receiver priority over the other appliances connected to your router so that your IP does not get bumped.

Found the Qos tab. But do not see a line to enter ip.

just thinking out of the box here Bill, make sure that your IP screen is populated and connected to your network, make sure that the server slot where you inputted your P$ info is set to the "ON" position, you can change the setting with the right/left arrow button on the remote, check for Typos on the info that you inputted, one mistake here and she will not connect and finally if it doesn't connect then try a different server slot.
Thank You Hedley for your help. The T5 has been connecting off and on but now it will not connect at all. I have tried different server slots. The Nano I have connected to the server works fine. I think something went bad in the T5. The only thing I have not tried is another internet connection. The only reason I have not tried that is none available right now.

do a factory reset and load the P$ Bin file, factory reset once again after you load the file and re-configure the receiver.
I just did that this morning.
