NFHD PVR slow playback question

I have a NFHD that I have a 1 TB external hard drive connected. When I playback a recording, it plays at 2/3rd's the rate that it should.
Is the HDD too big? I don't have a smaller one to test with.

I have the same setup,when playback starts,press pause,then play again,seems to work for me.
