yes i do,
its called a good business strategy, and here is how it goes.....
get into the business, make cheap crappy receivers that cost about $15 dollars each to mass produce in some foreign country, sell them for the highest possible profit, then get out of the business before sales drop, and run away with your millions of dollars,
they were smart, and did a good job from a business point of view

I would think this is a plausible answer. Dreamlink let there suppliers know that they would under no circumstance honor a warranty if the receiver had anything but a factory file on it. They have a way to read them upon return to know if there was another file installed. At that point the warranty is void. This got some suppliers pretty mad as if there is any issues at all with a receiver they are pretty much stuck with a store (out of their own pocket) warranty or no warranty at all. We all know that a file has nothing to do with most issues a receiver could have. If I had to guess they may be slandering or no longer purchasing and supplying those receivers to thier cutomers. They may also be just pissed off enough to say they aren't being manufactured anymore but that is only a guess. I'm sure if you look around you will find a person supplying them and that they are still being made. But again only a guess.
