that lnb has a built in switch so you dont need to add a switch

im sorry, but i did a little research since yesterday, and it states in the info for this particular didh, you need the dp34 . 118 and 119 stream thru the same lnb.110 has a seperate lnb. one cable for each lnb. both cables connect to the dp34. then one cable to the receiver. the manufacturer states that only a dp 34 can be used, and will not work without one. i ordered the dp34,but i will still need the right power on, lnb type- lnb freq- and so on etc. can you help with that info for high def dish500, thanks

The newer dish 500 plus do have a built in switch. The lnb type is ocs-dp ,frequency on 110 is 11250. not sure if 119 and 118 are 10750 frequency or not You would also have to turn diseq on and assign your ports
You might also have an issue with the dreamlink powering the lnb by itself.
Also there is no such thing as a hd dish or a hd lnb, just sounds better when they are selling them

The D500 plus dishes came in two configurations, one with two LNB's attached, one setup for 118/119 in one LNB and a single LNB for 110 attached to one side.
21165 This one needs the external DP 34 switch.
And a funny looking LNB setup for 110,118 and 119 that didn't need the external DP34 switch.
21166This one didn't work too well at some locations due to 118's funny footprint and it's lower output power levels, so it was not a massed distributed item.
If you have the very top one, then you will need the DP34 switch, the output for 119 will go to the #1 port on the switch, the output for 110 will go to the #2 port on the switch, and the output for 118 will go to the #3 port on the switch.
However some FTA receivers will/may not be able to power all 3 LNBs at once, then you will need to go to a powered DP44 switch, the inputs would be the same for 119 and 110 but 118 will have to go to the #4 port on the DP44 switch, the DP44 switches DP power inserter will have to go to the #1 receiver port on the switch on it's own separate coax, the 3 remaining receiver ports will run FTA receivers just fine after that.
