Why am I not able to get nimiq 6 on my nano se? Sometimes I get nimiq 1, but it seems like I lose it every couple of days.

But my sub box works fine. Is the nano just lesser quality? I'm confused.

maybe so.. try hooking up a different STB & see how it does... PS........ the providers are tightening the signal so if you aren't in Canada or very close you will no longer be able to receive...

You are correct, all tuners are not created equal, the tuner in your FTA might be weaker than the one in your sub. With the FTA connected bring up the weakest TP on Nimiq 6 and adjust your dish til that TP is as strong as you can get it, then all other TP's on the sat should be as strong as they will be.

Update..... So after doing multiple hard resets I can now get nimiq1 with no problem. Didn't touch the actual dish, just reset the box multiple times. Strange. I'm thinking the issue is probably with the nano receiver itself.

If your receiver is still showing "Nimiq 1" for "Nimiq 6" (91 w) and "Nimiq 2" for "Nimiq 4" (82 W) then the factory software guys have not updated the main satellite listings data base for that receiver.
They are behind the times as those satellites were replaced a few years ago.
These updates would not be included in a bin update for any IKS stuff, only the factory software would be the one to update these listings.
Or if there is a way to add satellites to the receiver then you could do it your self, someone with a better knowledge of your receiver's setup menu would have to help you with that.

I am learning this the hard way. Not impressed by the Nano at all. Oh well.

Any outdated file would explain the sat-name issue, but that should not cause you to loose the lock on the sat every couple of days as you mentioned in your first post. Interested to see if that still happens after all the reboots............

Dreamlink seems to be the most reccomended. Can anyone tell what makes these receivers so good?
