Hello gang, trying to setup a sv360p with 8x1 diseq switch and diplexers for OTA, but every time I turn receiver ON with rear switch I get no signal nor quality, I checked all the settings and are same as I left them, Hispasat30west Port1,etc. etc. all the way to port 7 but lost sig and quality, I remove the diplexer behind the receiver all good again with a diplexer still connected at the antennas. Tried 2 more new diplexers and no go, is the receiver capable of working with diplexers? Thanks in advance Turbo

Thanks Du, I was wondering that, because I thought the diplexer was the one that does the job then I thought again and said it must be combo team work thing, thanks DU Turbo

Here is the dope on diplexers, first they need to pass DC power up to the switch/LNB's the input/output for the satellite side must have a DC path.
The diplexer works with band pass and band reject filters on the outputs and combiners on the inputs, some diplexers are a matched pair, this means that one has to go at the LNB/switch TV antenna outside and should be labeled TV and SAT inputs.
The other one goes inside and should be labled TV out and SAT out, some are dual function meaning they could go at ether end, but they must have a DC path for the switch and LNB's DC power or your going to have problems.
Where do you have the diplexer located on the outside? Before or after the switch?

Thanks Terryl until I can take a photo let try explain with words
At the roof all lnbs directly to the 8x1, the receiver output of the 8x1 switch is connected to the SAT side of the first diplexer the UHF side to the OTA antenna, the IN/OUT side directly inside the house to the second diplexer IN/OUT the SAT side connected to Premier LNB IN, the UHF side to the converter RCA DTV converter. the diplexer on the roof is a Perfect Vision Brand the one behind the Premier is Holland Brand, may different Brands cause problems?

Terryl quick question you mentioned some diplexer are design for outside and some for inside, the diplexers I use most of the time are the Holland Brand and I do notice some times the sticker is red and some times is blue, same brand, could those colors mean anything? Thanks inaadvance TurboPirate

No idea, but they should be spec'ed on the box or included literature for use outside, if you don't see anything on them, then do what I do, I use a Tupperware plastic sandwich box with a removable lid, punch some holes big enough (on the side, not the top or bottom) for the coax to go through and mount the box so these holes are on the down side, then mount switch or diplexer inside it, snap the lid on and you have a cheap water tight box, you can squirt a bit of removable sealant around the holes to keep the bugs out.
You can also paint it to match the house.

Terryl here is what is different between the blue and the red.
Both are HOLLAND
RED.......STVC 5-2150....Sat side 28V 1A MAX
BLUE..... DPD2 5-2150..Sat side 28V 2A MAX

Ahhh, the only difference is the DC current capability one one, (DPD2 has 2 amp max) and the other has optional DC paths on both sides, that way if your OTA antenna needs a DC voltage to run a mast mounted pre-amp your set, but that one would only work with a DP type band stacking setup, (DP LNB's do not need the +13 and +18 volts to switch polarity's) or the DC voltage from the receiver would vary when you switched between transponders.

In other words I can't use the blue one with the red one? I got an OTA miyako that has a preamp and a motor to rotate the antenna the one you mentioned can be used with FTA recivers and regular Eagle Aspen LNBs?

You could if the red one does not have the dual DC ports on it.
And your OTA antenna does not need a pre-amp.

They both will work fine if your TV antenna dose not have a mast mounted pre-amp.

It doesnt matter, indoor or outdoor they both will work fine, just be sure to protect them like you would a switch.
Mounting them under an eave , or in a water tight box would be the best.

Yes, like the Tupperware idea you gave me before.
