I don't remember if I asked already this question. I have a sub with D*** and I am thinking using a splitter in the
living room so that I can turn on both my DL T5 and PVR from D***. Is that possible if I just use a splitter?
Will it create a problem on the LNB? The set up right now is each has a different power strip so I have to turn of the
other one if I want use the other one. If both are on is it gonna be a problem?
Thanks a lot!

Simply stated...splitters don't work with FTA...

If it is a dual tuner PVR like the VIP222 or VIP722 then they may have a second coax run to the back of the dish receiver, a look in back will tell.
If they used two separate coaxes and not the dish separator/splitter then you can use the second coax for your FTA receiver and get a dish splitter to run the dual inputs on the dish receiver.
This separator/splitter will only work on the dish receivers, you can't use it to run the dish receiver and the FTA receiver.

So I guess I have to use the old ways of using 2 power strip! :)

Two power strips?????
I meant while the other one is on other one is off. :) So I will be using the D*** or my T5 not simultaneously!

Yes as long as you transfer the coax cable going to your dish receiver to your T5. As was stated above you cannot use a splitter.

It would be far better on the equipment to run a second coax for the T5.

If you are adventurous enough, you can run a separate cable from the lnb to the T5. The last D@#$ units I installed had the DP+ lnb with only one port on the LNB going to the Separator/splitter at the back of the receiver and it had a spare port open.
