so this box claims to decode mpeg2&4 dvb refurbished is affoedable if they can let u view channels just like clear tfta channels. any comments:book:

That receiver requires a registered users code from Cisco to use it, and a users code/card from whomever your trying to decode, it will not automatically decode anyone's encryption.

It also sells for $3400 new.

This receiver is what the cable company's, satellite company's and OTA stations use to pick up the premium channel programming like HBO and Showtime from 131W to 137W (and others) on "C" band, you will not be able to get it to work without first registering as a licensed user with the manufacture and with whomever your trying to pick up.

It would be a very expensive paper weight without the proper codes.

yes saw that u need to register with cisco but they give full support to products & used 1s @ discounts can any1 register with them. thxs terryl for reply still getting info on this that would be my ultimate testing box.

No, not everyone can register with them to use this receiver, you have to be in the CATV, Satellite or TV station business to even think about getting onto their authorized users list, and it's not free (I don't know how much) then you have to register your company with HBO or Showtime or one of the other premium channel providers to even get programming from them, and that costs BIG bucks.

So I would not even waist your time with that box.

These are the type of boxes that Dish and BEV use to get their programming, a lot of the CATV company's use the same thing, this is a professional box.

It would be a good start if your starting up your own CATV system.

what about the chinese boxes that claim theirs decode with files download probably not worth it .
