Thinking of picking up this new toy, had a couple questions.
Does the pvr work? Records good with no freezes and glitches? And plays back well also
Can a hard drive be hooked to it for recording?
And if a power insertr is used, can it run the dpp lnbs? Saw the repair manual for bad chipset.
Thanks for all the help in advance.

I helped a neighbor set up one of these and get to see it a good bit. I dont think she records so I cant comment on that. I am confident that a remotely power external HD would record fine. She does not have a power inserter for her 1000.2 dish but has a relatively short cable run. I also think the repair is no longer an issue - it has been taken care of. Overall it appears to be a good solid box with a few install quirks (8282 to see hidden choices as an example). The SD signal may be slightly under par but by no means a poor picture - The HD is just fine

It records fine with a usb harddrive or just usb stick.

I don't recommend this Stb, to many issues.

Mine doesn't even open on the last channel I was watching anymore. Can't even rename my favorites cause every time I do, when I turn on the stb, the names I put for my favorites are reset to Fav1, 2, 3, etc. Dreamlink is better.
