No keyboard on backside of remote.
XBMC is on the unit but needs updating.
Lan connection is wonky but wifi works flawless
Very responsive unit.
Not sure about KitKat.

it dose'nt say if it has blue tooth to support a keyboard and mouse that would be handy.i've been using my samsung galaxy note 3 (phone) hooked up to my big screen with xbmc 1 channel, icefilms, and mashup those are the better addon's for xbmc in case anyone's wondering.

Unit has 4 usb ports so a wireless keyboard and mouse or a all in one will work.
All in on keyboard works fine.
Remote and all in one keyboard is the ideal route as the remote needs some learning by operator and until operator learns the key functions on the remote that is my suggestion.
Not sure about blue tooth.

No Navi-X yet, they keep promising to come back but the date keeps getting pushed back. In the mean while you can access all of the playlists from Navi-X with an add-on called iStream from the Xfinity team. Be careful if loading the iStream packages as most of it are skins but all you need is the istream video add-on. You will gain access to tons of live streaming, WWE network, plus tons more. One thing to remember with these playlists are that they are user supported, the list might say a channel is open but if the fellow turned off his computer the stream is offline. It will probably be back within a few hours. If you find a source that is bad resolution just look a little more and you will probably find it with better resolution from another link.

Anubis there is an arrow just above the volume keys on your remote. If you hit it once it acts as your mouse pointer. If you hit it again it turns it off and you can use your directional on your remote again.

For Gotham 13.1 make sure you go to system and under Input options use remote to input keyboard presses or something like that. Basically make sure top two radio buttons are ON.

Nostradamus
05-17-2014, 04:07 AM
150 GB is a lot of data, at the same time streaming uses a lot of bandwidth as well. Actual usage would depend on how much you used it and what resolution you were watching in. HD uses a lot more bandwidth than SD and 1080 uses more than 720 so there really is no definitive answer to your question

Nostradamus
05-17-2014, 04:19 AM
I just did a little number crunching here. According to my internet provider, HD streaming would require about 2.6GB per hour

Unless of course if your on an unlimited internet connection. Just a note, I was watching a movie last night and it started to freeze on me and no attempts were improving it with the exception of hitting the play button constantly. I decided to hard wire it instead of using wifi and my issue was resolved without any lapse.

Nostradamus
05-17-2014, 12:13 PM
yeah my internet is uncapped here so I don't worry about bandwidth but hardwired is always better than WIFI. WIFI is limited in speed while hardwired will deliver whatever the router is dishing out

Works flawlessly here hard wired............I need to do a lot of playing as I just set it up..........

Hate to be the oddball on the wifi/hard wired topic but on my end I did a comparison using both.
Wifi performed slightly slower than my Lan connection however the variance was very minimal to the point that I really had look for it using naked eye.
I then took a stopwatch and tried the same repos using both types of connections. The difference time wise to load was .03 secs slower on average using wifi.

My suggestion to anyone trying to run this unit wireless is make sure that you have it near the wireless source or use a wireless extender set up to your actual router channel.

You go to add-ons and enabled them.......There are so many to choose from....Some may or may not work but after you enable them test them and the ones that don't work you can disable or delete... Deleting will still keep them there in add ons..

widek,
Don't know if you solved your situation or not, but if not, then go to your Dreamlink apps page and to the Google Play store. Sign up for a free account or sign-in if you already have one. Search/download the app called, "full!screen" by Tsorn. Then open the app and make sure that it activates when you bootup your box. Now, when you watch movies/shows, you'll have a full screen and the menu bar will be deactivated (or minimized really).

Good luck.
