Happy Cinco de Mayo? We all know it as the Fifth of May and most commonly known as a good excuse to indulge in some delicious Mexican cuisine and libations, but what are we celebrating? Cinco de Mayo is the Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla (May 5, 1862) fought at Puebla, Mexico.

It Commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). In the US, Cinco de Mayo is widely interpreted as a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.
