I bought my first fta reciever a few days ago so i am pretty new to the game. I got a jynxbox v3 which i thought was legit brought it home loaded 251 bin and now it seems like everything works except nothing happens when search channels. So i tried to load 239 bin and it is stuck on the 251 in system info. So if it is a clone is there anyway to bring it back or is my jynxbox now a boat anchor?

You could try loading the factory file with the PC loader and a straight through serial cable. Although if it is a clone you might end up with the This is a Clone message at any time.

Ya i have been reading about loading through serial port but i wasnt sure if if it was worth the purchase of the cable.

You can get a serial cable for about $8 or less. No harm in trying.

So do i just try loading the firmware through the serial port or is there something else i can do

Moved your thread to where it belongs. If you find out you have a clone this thread will be moved to the clone section.
As for your issue of nothing happening when trying to search channels is not a file issue but more than likely a setting issue.
The more you play with the unit the more you will likely mess up the box altogether. Check all you setting's very carefully.

Did you turn the LNB power on, or look to see that it is on, do you know that your dish is aimed correctly, is your coax cable good,
is the coax hooked to the correct port on the back of the receiver, did you set 119.0w to port 1, 110.0w to port 2 & 129.0w to port 3
This is a list of things for you to check.

Currently running a 722 subscribed to dish network so yes dish is aimed correctly. Also using that reciever to power the dish. I have signal on my jynxbox and have found all channels with it on 239 bin. Had no issues until i switched it to 251. Its like it doesnt even try to scan

try this from bob first
then format your usb to ntfs
then make sure your usb has only one file on it
then upload to reciever
let reboot
DO NOT TURN OFF
it will reboot
factory reset
then setup sats etc etc

good luck

Did you find and check the LNB power on/off settings.

Yes you want it on, I cant get to my jynxbox at this time & I don't remember just where it is, but when you are in the main menu
its in one of the sub menus, just start at the top and work your way down, look in each section.

after installing 2.5.1 (which i don't recommend to anyone), the only way to revert your clone box to a working box again is to:
1) factory reset
2) remove all extra cables/media from box (nothing in the usb or SD ports, nothing in the hdmi port, DO NOT leave your coaxial connected to the box.
3) flash the factory v8 via serial cable. (you can now reattach your video cable, but i'd hold off on the coax and others)
4) once booted in the factory v8, do a factory reset from the menu
5) upgrade via USB, or via serial cable, to the firmware of your choice. afterwards, do a factory reset, and turn off/remove power for 10 seconds (allows RAM to reset)
6) turn off, and remove power from jynxbox (by hitting rocker switch to off position, or removing power cable, depending on type of jynx you have), BEFORE reattaching your coax.

i recommend removing as many cables as possible when flashing because they can affect voltage levels and other minor-electrical interference which can corrupt the unsteady process of flashing new data. factory resets are required because sometimes satellite or channel settings from the factory v8 will 'wander-through' the upgrade process. factory resets will ensure you have the correct options on your menu at the right time (along with allowing the RAM to reset).

I see this was moved to the cloned receiver section, now I could be wrong but I have seen nothing to make me think the OP has a
cloned receiver, I have never seen a clone kill code do this or one that would let you go into the menu & make changes.
All the clone killers I have seen just bricks the receiver or your tv screen will say=this is a clone= or something like that.JMO,lol.

To the best of my knowledge, all new released v3 Jynxbox Ultra's in the market are some type of clone. Some better than others but all clones. If he was talking about a v2, things would change drastically. Not all clones will react the same way to a clone kill bin.

I didn't want to call it a duck before it quacks was all,LOL.
Every thing on the receiver works, just no S&Q, that sounds more like a settings problem, than a clone kill to me,JMO.

I tend to agree with you.
Jynxbox did have a v3 however what made it a v3 was the addition of a wifi antenna included. That is why I hadn't moved the thread as of yet.
As far as I'm concerned we still don't know if it is a clone or not.
I know for a fact of a genuine dealer that still has some inventory.

Thanks

If it had 2.44 installed, indeed is a clone.

So, do you guys need to start working on defeating the clone kill, or does everything work OK with the file you can run?

These ducks fly better than the originals, even though they're being hunted. Just need to run a factory and a clone safe bin and walla we are back in business. Clone makers keep making them cheaper and better every time. Thanks for your concern.

Running 2.39 after the v8 flash. No issues yet and i would consider buying another one. just have to know to treat it as a clone. What is the issue with the pvr everyone talks about?

I have no idea but i have a friend that just connected a 2TB disc and is working fine. 2.39 is a nice file for us,2.44 is also a very good file, stay with it and you shouldn't have any problems.
