Alexander Rossi has parted company with Caterham, putting an end to plans for him to take part in FP1 in Austin again this year.

Rossi has also left the Caterham GP2 team, although it is does not come under the same new ownership as the F1 outfit. Rossi last drove the F1 car in FP1 in Canada in June.

Rossi’s departure is one of many personnel changes that has came as a result of the sale of the team to a Swiss-Middle Eastern consortium. Team head Colin Kolles has reportedly indicated that there could be more changes made after Hockenheim.

Rossi will be at Hockenheim this weekend driving for the Campos Racing GP2 team. He will deputise for Kimiya Sato, who has a clashing Auto GP event.

“I had a chance to work with the team’s Technical Director Philippe Gautheron during the latter part of the 2013 season, including my win in Abu Dhabi,” said Rossi. “I feel we have a very good opportunity for a strong race weekend in Hockenheim.”
