Be more specific, usb adapters are used in PC not in boxes. If you need to load firmware to a box with an adapter, the answer is yes.

I just want to move it and not run cords etc what is a easy product to use. my router is a linksy 6500if that helps

I guess a Netgear line extender would do the job.

If you like wifi then try this(picture below) otherwise wireless adapters which use the wiring in your home work great also.

Vonet wi-fi works ok also as long as you only have wep encryption from your wireless router.
