View Full Version : Will will two Legacy LNB's and a Diseqce switch fool a Dik or B3V sub box?
Will a dual legacy dish with a diseqc set to 119 on port one and 110 on port two fool a subed HD box into thing the LNB is a Dik Pro? Or is the oscillator frequency different?
TIA

No, the subbed box has to do a switch check to find out what it's connected to, it will go through it's list of DP equipment and won't find a Dish switch it can use.
Dish receivers need to use all Dish equipment, you cant fool them.
So can I use SW21 or 44 on the newer dik Pro boxes or does it have to be dik pro LNB?
BTW thanks Terryl for fast reply.
So will a DP twin with a separator work for the latest dual tuner units?

Yes a DP separator and DP twin (if it's a twin DP pro dual satellite LNB) will work on the latest VIP dual tuner units, but you must do a switch check to get the receiver to find 110 and 119 through the separator.
I've tried a DP twin with a DPP seperator on a DN receiver once, it did not work, so I think lnb has to be DPP.

That is correct, if it's a DP Twin (not a DPP) lnb then you don't use the separator, you run 2 line from the DP Twin lnb to the receiver.

but the DP twin will work with a VIP receiver one tuner or two (two sat lines) correct?

They made two types of DP twins, the old style had two (2) "F" connectors on it, the new style has three (3), two for the receivers and one for a second LNB input.
The new style will work with the DPP separator.
