my signal strength was so low on my receiver I couldn't keep from freezing all the time .....checked everything out since I have two of the sonicviews 8000 hd I went down stairs and got the wifes receiver and brought it up stairs and tried it and same thing low signal .......had read about the sonicview and the capasators that was blowing so I ordered the capasators and replaced them ......walla took care of the low signal and also the hd board was fine then
but I still couldn't get any tv I hooked up the dongle and all and have been using it for years and now it shows connected on the tv but it don't ever get picture or audio..... I went and got the wifes dongle out of hers and and tried it and it got picture and good signal strength ....so this means that the dongle has lost some of its memory because when I try to go to menue so I can check out the network settings it says wait then screen goes black and then it goes back to the channel box never will connect to the network settings so I can check to see it it is up or not .......has anyone experienced this before and what do I need to know I know all the info on the receiver is correct because wifes dongle works on mine ........I have the wiznet so I can load if I need to and also I have a usb to load everything on and go from there ...help please

ok found the problem and I got the answer on another site anyway the problem was the 44 switch (power inserter was bad)
I replaced it and walla everything is working as far as the power I haven't took the time to re-align it as of yet but it is on my list
(What gave me the idea this is what it was when I changed channel the signal would build until it got to the top of the meter and then drop off .....) I was told that is how a bad power inserter will do with the signal .......and so it is working on the power and signal ..............Thanks so much for the help and it was appreciated
