tried setting sat at 124.9w with 18 dish but in vein, does anyone know how to get this sat, (sat 129 comes in ok)
pbs channel comes in it free so that the wife can watch downton abbey episodes,
since nfps doesn't carry this channel how don't know why

Well, it is a linear pol sat, so odds are that you are using the wrong LNB. Now, whether an 18 inch dish is big enough is another question--I'm going to guess that it is not and you need at least a 30 inch dish.

124.9W is a bit weaker on some transponders then some of the other linear birds, use the footprint map below to see what size dish is needed at your location for that bird.

Just zoom into your location and click on it, this will give the estimated dish size needed at your location for 124.9W (125W), and as Jvh5897 pointed out, you will need a linear LNB to pick it up, also a 18 inch dish is not big enough, if you live in Florida, a 21 incher may work.

I would go with a dish of at least 36" and a linear or universal lnbf.

They were changed a long time ago (6/28/2017) to MPEG-4, 8PSK, DVB-S2 on the 12180V transponder, on the Montana PBS transponder 11916V it's just DVB-S2. The last time I checked....
