The draft calendar for the 2015 Formula 1 season features 20 races and does not include the proposed Grand Prix of America in New Jersey.
According to a report by SpeedWeek’s Mathias Brunner, the calendar was discussed by the F1 Strategy Group during a meeting with Bernie Ecclestone at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend.
Brunner has obtained a copy of the proposed calendar, and it largely follows the same schedule that we saw in 2014. The season still starts in Australia and ends in Abu Dhabi.
The United States Grand Prix is planned to take place on November 1st in Austin, Texas, and will be go back-to-back with the Mexican Grand Prix, which returns to F1 for the first time in 23 years next season. This will take place one week before the race at the Circuit of The Americas.
However, the notable – although maybe unsurprising – exception is the race in New Jersey. The event featured on the draft calendars for both the 2013 and 2014 seasons before eventually being postponed, but this time around, it does not feature.
There is also no place for the Indian Grand Prix, which claimed to have cancelled its 2014 race to make an early race in 2015 possible.
Here is the provisional calendar for the 2015 F1 season, as per SpeedWeek.
Australian Grand Prix – March 15
