I believe you need a usb to serial adapter, is straight thru, not null modem to work to flash factory.

It's null, the difference is male to female, if is an original.

I have to disagree! The null cable will not work. It has to have a straight through connection. If you are using a USB to RS232 adapter, you can connect it directly to the port. The null modem cable crosses the connection between rx and tx and it will not work.

Diode is correct Fibroso. The non clone ultra uses a straight through cable as does the Lite. Now as for the clones I can't speak for them as I don't know but it is possible they use a null instead.

:yes:Sorry Fellas, the only box that uses straight through cable is Coolsat. No other one that I know of. Clones happened to use null also but male to male like the others. Lets ask Poroto40 and jvvh5897, they both worked Coolsats for a long time. (http://www.satfix.net/member.php?75723-jvvh5897)

Don't need to ask anyone. I know for a fact that Coolsats use straight through as does the non clone Jynxboxes. Good to know the clones use a null however.

My apologies, never to late to learn in this business. Just saw a tutorial and it is straight.

I don't know about the OE jynxbox, it didn't last long enough for me to find out,LOL.
The clone jynxbox uses the null cable, RX to TX, GND to GND or put another way, pin 3 to pin 2 & pin 5 to pin 5.
For usb to rs232 you can make one from an old usb printer cable.
Point being its only 3 wires, how hard can it be,LOL.
