Happen to have a friend send me this regards to a new Dish report, this is the first of it's kind I've seen,it's about Dongles: (yes the case is posted on the court dockets website)


D*sh Network L.L.C. et al v. Summers

Plaintiffs bring this action against Defendant Carl Summers (“Defendant”) for unlawfully manufacturing, distributing, and otherwise trafficking in devices, components, and technologies intended to facilitate the illegal and unauthorized reception and decryption of D*SH Network’s satellite television programming (“D*SH Network Programming”) and unlawfully circumventing and facilitating others to circumvent Plaintiffs’ technological measures that effectively control access to D*SH Network Programming.

Defendant is involved in and/or responsible for designing, developing, distributing, trafficking-in, and promoting Pirate Software for various brands of satellite receivers and “Dongles” and/or components thereof, and other circumvention devices and/or components thereof including middleman boards and Iks Servers (collectively “Pirate Accessories”). The Pirate Software and Pirate Accessories are (a) primarily designed or produced for the purpose of circumventing Plaintiffs’ Security System to gain access to D*SH Network Programming; (b) have only limited commercially significant purpose or use other than to circumvent Plaintiffs’ Security System to gain access to D*SH Network Programming; or (c) are marketed by Defendant and/or others acting in concert with Defendant for use in circumventing Plaintiffs’ Security System to gain access to D*SH Network Programming.
