hi All, Im currently having issues with my nfhd running 25f and noi 1.31a. I haven't run the system in awhile but recently subscribed to a ps. The only changes on my end are a new router, I generally run dn but have sub for a north bird for the nfl package, my setting are as follows...
computer-
IP 192.168.0.10*
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.0.1
Preferred dns 208.67.222.222

nfusion-
Static
IP 192.168.0.020
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.0.10*(to match my cpu ip)
DNS 192.168.0.001

Not sure if Im missing something simple, but I spent most of my day today and I'm more screwed now then when I started. I've disabled my firewall but still no luck.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

in your NFusion change from static to DHCP and let the numbers populate.
In your computer do an IP config (run-cmd-ipconfig enter) and write down info. Make sure you are using a static ip for your computer.
change your NFusion back to Static and enter the computers static IP as your gateway. Should work at this stage. Use the IP config to confirm the info you posted previously

Ok Riverman here's what I came up with...
On my computer...
Connection-specific DNS suffix
IP address...123.108.109.23
Subnet mask...255.0.0.0
IP address ...123.108.108.138
Subnet mask...255.0.0.0
IP address...192.168.0.105
Subnet mast...255.255.255.0
Default gateway..192.168.0.1
On my nfhd...after the dhcp and static switch(I only changed the gateway to match my ip)
Nfhd settings.
IP address...192.168.001.103
Subnet mast...255.255.255.0
Gateway...192.168.0.105
DNS...024.226.001.093
Not sure what's up but still can't connect.but how do I ensure my computer is in static ip? Thanx

1st ip should be 123.108.109.22 not 23 as you typed. Could be a typo but that is the IP for Dish and you are trying to make Bev. work so that is not the problem. The rest seems correct. What P$ service did you subscribe to and where did you enter the info. Hopefully in North Birds with a tick in the appropriate box.
To answer your question about static IP you enter that in TCP/IPV4 properties. In there it gives you the choice to obtain IP address automatically or use this address(which is the one you need and you type in your IP 192.168.0.105). You were in that area of your computer already as that is also where you added the 2 external IP addresses.
in the 2nd section in TCP/IPV4 properties put a tick in "use the following Dns address" and type in 208.67.222.222. It's probably not exactly TCP/IPV4 in XP but you can easily find it. I use Windows 8.1 now.

hey Riverman, I sub to ultimate iks.it is a .22 not .23, does it matter the order of the ips?(dish and bev) I plugged all my info into my computer thru noi, the only thing that was a bit weird as a server normally its a name but this time its a ip address...5.135.**.*** so I plugged that into the server line. not sure what you mean by a tick in the appropriate box. everything else is exactly as you say it should be...weird. Thanx again for all your help.

Under advanced settings North Birds is where you should have all your P$ info and there is a box to tick "use these settings". The IP 5.135 is fine under server and I can confirm that specific P$ is working.

Hey Riverman,I did try that but it still won't connect, and code I used in the past I entered thru the main settings then connected with the start button, and usually get snow on the screen followed by the number countdown. I don't get it, how am I to be sure my code is good with the proper port ect?do you have anymore ideas?thanx again for your time.

I don't know why it is not working. If you are unsure if your code is working sent a PM to johnnytest and ask him to check it. Do you get sound on channels for example 3400 TSNHD? Does the guide populate? Something weird here. Are you connecting to this site using the same computer that has NO1?

Why don't you just switch to GooWre, it runs in Windows or Linux 32 or 64 bit, there is even a router client. But most important in never crashes. IMHO

If I enter my info thru the main noi settings I get a 15 second delay then " cannot connect to server" and if I go thru advanced settings and enable north bird I get the monitor screen saying " connecting" in red? I don't know man but but I'm can't figure ****...I've contacted johnnytest and he's short on words but it seems it's on my end. Thanks again

I figured noi would be easier, I haven't done a pile of reading about goo. But I've been thinking about it, do I need to run two routers? Thanx

the only part of what you have listed that i wonder about is the Dns of 024.226 etc. I wonder if that should be the 208.67.222.222 that you entered in the network settings. I would like you to ping the server address also to make sure ultimates IP is not blocked by your internet provider.

I just re-read and IP is not 192.168.1.103 it should be 192.168.0.103
Also are you running a HD box or Nova, if so add 210.51.47.147 255.0.0.0
Also you must shut off box and re-start for any new setting to work!

Glatt is right I missed that you said the IP for the computer is 192.168.0.105 and the receiver is 192.168.001.103. One of them is wrong. The router assigns the IPs and will not give you both those 2 numbers.

Hey Guys, all is good had a pile of help from Glatt(this guy is a genius) it turns out my computer would not assign a router ip to my new router, and after Glatt walked me through the automatically obtain ip, it dropped my old ip and assigned a new one. Then just a matter of plugging in a few numbers on the PC and on the nfhd.works like a charm.Glatt makes it pretty simple,(thanks a ton). Thanks to all who helped me out, it's really a great bunch of guys here spending their time for others benefit. Thanks
