I just bought a new DLSD T4 and I cant get it to switch ports on either of two diseqc switches, one is a Chieta and the other is a Pansat both are new. When I run the 110/119 RG-6 coax cables DIRECTLY to the DLSD T4 they give signal strength fine using a double female to replace the Diseqc switch. I've loaded the latest DLSD T4 file, Dreamlink_T4_0109_0625P, and even ran a separate new RG-6 coax out to the dish!

When either of the Diseqc switches are connected it looks as though there is NO Coax connected at all! i.e. S = 0%-5% (should be 40% even with no signal from LNB) Q = 0% for both sats!

When running direct, S= 75% Q= 92% for 110, and S= 73% Q= 97% for 119!

Just tried an SW-21 switch and that works OK!

Is there some option I haven't turned on in the setup menu? or something else?

thanks chris

You probably know but I will mention anyway that if you were to connect coax without turning the receiver off from the back there is a good chance you would blow any disq switch when connecting. Don't believe that is so with the sw21.
If you are using but two satellites then and the sw21 works you could stick with that.
You didn't mention what l n b you were using or what you have for antenna settings.

thanks for reply whoknows, the Chieta was already inline when I powered up the DLSD T4. I was replacing an existing receiver and had replace the old diseqc(a Coolsat I said it was old!!) with the Chieta first! When I inserted the Pansat diseqc the system was also powered down.

here's additional info that someone else asked. that same person said the 109 file may be the cause and that i should try 108. are you aware of any problems with the 109? thanks again chris

Are you connecting the the RG6 cables to the correct Port?
yes I assign 110 to port 2 and 119 to port 3 and make the same selection(s) in the dish setup menu.

What is the Type of LNBs you are using?
Dual output legacy

what type.. Legacy.. or Dish Pro?
legacy dish (old single LNB directv with 110-119 adapter)

When I insert the double female and all is fine, its when i re-insert the diseqc(s) I get nothing! highly unlikely both diseqcs are bad??

the 108 file didn't help, same thing. Was going to order a new diseqc but then realized I only want to use two sats anyway so the SW-21 will do! I think I also order a new diseqc or else the reason why the T4 wont work with a diseqc will keep my up at nights til I solve it!

you should post all your settings in dish setup...

When using the direct coax from lnb to DLSD T4 S and Q are relatively the same as above (as when using the SW-21) relative to each sat

wierd...maybe the lnb type you speak of is diifferent...

I'll agree with weird.

The LNB's are practically brand new Legacy's!

It's got to be the diseqcs! Although that is an astronomical odds thing.

lol lol...maybe try diferent ports...119 1 110 2....

I tried switching ports. Usually with 4 sats, 82 (82 can still be seen from my location with a 39" dish) 110,119, and 129 I put them on a diseqc in sky order. i.e. 1 high 4 low, 1=82 2=110 3=119 4=129.

With just two sats being TESTED, 110~119 would be 2 and 3 which from a hardware point of view makes mounting the switch easier, then I tried 1=110 and 4=119! That combo made all wires come out of the bottom of the switch. Then I tried 1=110 and 3=119, then 2=110 and 4=119!

Nothing worked, where's Watson when you need him!
