I've had it for oh, about 6 months now, used steadily, worked pretty well though I don't have a power inserter. 4 sats with a disecq 1. Quite sure it's not a clone. Bought from a fairly reputable Ontario retailer but I doubt it's covered at all... but not quite dead yet, hopefully.

Last night I turn it on & note it's lost a lot of channels. At some point I try to reboot & it won't power up at all. Turn on the switch at the back, the red light goes on but that's it. Oddly, when turned off the red light still glows slightly.

I guess I should try to reboot with the 9 pin at the back but before that I thought I'd check with y'all.

Pull the JB200 out and see if it will power on.

Pull the JB200 out and see if it will power on.

Did that & no difference.

Well then I would say you have a blown cap.

I can't see any visual signs of burn out- not that I expect a burned out cap to show itself.

If indeed that's it, I wonder if it's worth fixing cuz unless it's under warranty these days... or your uncle's an electronic tech...

I bought it from a local chain store centred in Hamilton- pretty big for ota- last December & the JB200 a couple months later.

I guess if I can't find someone on here to fix it cheap I'll try selling it for a few bucks for parts. THe JB200 is still good.

Check if there is voltage at the tuner or near the built in power supply, there should be some voltage, if you can't find any voltage at all then the power supply is dead. TurboPirate

I might have a voltage tester buried among my things, I'll try to find it. On Ebay some guy in Winnipeg says he can fix any Jynxbox for a decent price but shipping is $20 & seems silly when I'm in Toronto. There must be someone local.
