is this a unit that needs to be change as I do not have a old computor to load anymore.
I do not think one can use the stick to repair or redo
The one I saw was from china & said unique 3.,2.57 which I not sure what that means.I looked in the file section & it really didn't help me
Any one know for sure?

For newer computers, you can buy a USB to serial adapter.

It is preloaded and you should never need to be upgraded the firmware, but if at some time you do need to reload the firmware
you can buy a usb to rs232 adaptor that works with the newer computers.

You need to disable the windows firewall and you need to know what com port you plug the usb into, I used the usb to rs232 adaptor
with windows 7, it worked perfect.

Many of those serial adapters are garbage and will not work with win7 or 8. The good ones are an extra $2 or so.

How can you tell which to buy?
Make sure it has an FTDI chip. The cheap ones have poop inside but no FTDI. The cheap ones MIGHT work on XP.

The next problem is installing the driver if it isnt working after Plug N' Play auto loads your drivers. Find a driver on google and you have to select the driver manually by selecting "Have Disk."

There are some tutorials with pics if you are a noob and need more details.

I will put out in exchange for a Thanks:thumbsup:

After loading the chunks, what version do you see on the screen? Is it 2.57 or newer?
