No, it's also scrambled on DTV.

This eliminates the excuse that you are watching the FTA channels, if you have a DN dish. Doesn't it?

Even Angel One is scrambled. I guess you can say there was FTA channels there once! freeDBS.org does list NASA in it's channel list so this could be a prelude to something? :noidea: Dang providers, won't even give us scraps.

they move some of the channel's..

That channel has been there. It is a mirror of 216. It is encrypted, but open on some IKS receivers. I'm guessing you have one of them. :)

I remember reading that on the web, public info is not for sale, lets see where this ends between NASA and DN.

You still have the choice to get it off an FTA satellite, but DN has the right to encrypt it if it's on their satellite. There is no law or rule about it. If public info really wasn't for sale, then the federal courts couldn't have the PACER system to retrieve court documents. :)

Yes but they got no right to encrypt a channel where there is a contract and a monthly fee payed to charlie for having their channel in that sat. That is the document I read on the web, NASA pays for having the channel UP in DN Sat and they gave Charlie a contract where it states the channel has to be OPEN, not because the sat belongs to you you can just encrypt any channel, you can do this with channels you don't have a contract.

Sorry, but NASA pays for no Ku feeds for their channel. Anything you've seen that says that is erroneous. Feel free to look at their budget or their own website.

From /http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/digital.html
NASA TV provides only C-band digital service (no Ku-band).

DN only has the obligation to provide public access channels to their customers, not everyone that has a dish and some type of receiver. I wish it was otherwise, but that's the way it is. :)
