Bought the Dreamlink T5 HD and was wondering how to clear up the picture? Do I need to switch from component to HDMI? Or do I have to go to the settings menu and press a few buttons here and there?

always found the dreamlink pic quality to be sub par on HD and not good on SD either compared to some other HD receivers, HD pic lacks vividness and colors could be more vibrant, never was a fan of the sk200 modules that were first being used and not any better with the newer version 8psk the t5 uses now but thats just my opinion as i have always found the dreamlink HD receivers to be way over hyped compared to what it really is, HDMI connection will give you the best possible pic along with adjusting your tv video settings to maximize pic quality also have the proper video selection in the receivers menu options 720 or 1080

thats because it is way over hyped and again its my opinion given on an open forum, op asked about improving pic quality and I gave suggestions to help maximize pic possibly and informed the op the 8psk modules specifically the sk200 and dl100 the dreamlink line uses are not very good possibly being the reason for his questioning, it is known those 8psk modules are not the best so not bashing or promoting another receiver so really cant see the issue with my reply except that you took offence to it for what ever reason and really don't see why you bring up nfusion and sonicview as I do not promote or prefer either of those receivers

I concur with Tor .There is very little difference in the picture quality of the various HD receivers. If you have the newer TV with high resolution , you will get good quality pictures with any HD receiver.

Maybe stick to helping. You keep going on about how its overhyped.I guess I have missed all the data on how the modules are not up to snuff.
