View Full Version : Problem with iptv for Mag 250
I bought a 1 month sub for ipguys awhile back to try it. Now cannot use to box for ipguys anymore even though the original sub has expired. It seems that once a mag 250 is linked to an ipguys account it cannot be linked to any other ipguys account even when the sub has expired. Anybody know how to fix this?

Ask who you bought your code from to unlink it.

I did a couple of times but got no reply. I think the reason is because the ipguys reseller panel has no provision for unlinking a box. Once linked it's linked forever. Even before a subscription expires the ipguys reseller panel will not allow adding months to a box that is linked to another account. Don't know if it's a bug in the software or what. I asked if doing a hard reset of the box would unlink the account but was told that it wouldn't.

It's linked by unique id (MAC). Since the main panel is the same (only one), only one unique id can be added. So, you need to get deleted from the main.. even if you don't get deleted from the subpanel, it really does not matter.

OK so how can one get deleted from the main? You would think that once a sub expired that the link would be broken but it's not.

Your new reseller or old reseller can send the request to the main.

I hear if you reboot your mag and keep hitting the setup button it will give you the option to unlink whatever service you want. Doesn't work!
No problem using the Mag 250 for other services. It just can't use it for ip guys. The Mag 250 is not linked like a Roku. You enter the url of a portal and if you are subscribed to that service then you're good to go. The service knows whether or not you are subscribed by the MAC address of your Mag 250. The problem with ip guys is that once you are subscribed your MAC is in their system and only the reseller who originally sold you the credits can add more. No other reseller can add credits. It's crazy.

Hello All
I'm using a MAG 254 and I am currently under trial through ipguys with a reseller. I don't like the guy. Does this mean that I cannot change resellers or become a reseller myself?
What is the website for ipguys anyway? I looked everywhere online and couldn't find their site.
Thanks

They do have a homepage but we are not to discuss other sites as per the rules..you will run into trouble with this as the reseller panels are not the main panel..trying to be removed from the main panel is like a main giving birth..just from what o have heard anyways..you best bet is to perhaps find another service or trying changing the MACof your device

Wow....this should give everyone second thoughts about using a Mag250. I was looking to purchase one, but will not be happy if this happened.

I just got the mag 254 and signed up for service. Does this mean that at the end of my service period, I cannot switch to a new provider and have to stay with what Im using now?

It depends on the portal.. Its different then with a roku let's just say that..I only can speak for ipguys portal, I am unsure if it applies to the other ones..just be on your guard and have a good reseller..otherwise you could end up with some issues

that is nice, IPTV barely out of the gate and they are already trying to cut each others throats and screw the end users ... sweet!

I thought this to bed the case..not sure if its just a real pain in the ass for them to remove a MAC or if they just do not care.

I bet they wouldn't have it any other way..it does cause quite a problem for end users though..that's for sure, as you know in this game dust in the wind happened all to often and can really leave those looking with there thumb up there you know what

It should be easy enough to change your mac address. Now its been a while for me but your router assigns mac addresses to devices and you can reset them in your router panel.....I believe?

Irish- you are confusing IP addresses and Mac addresses. Router is only concerned with IP addresses
