I am using two viewsat 2000 extreme receivers. I have 7-ku band dishes switched together. Because i have a lot of trees here I have a group of dishes in one corner to catch part of arc are then a group of dishes in the other corner to catch the other part of the arc. I switch between receivers using my t v.
Smallest is an s/c18x32 for g28 CBS news. This little dish real works well in all weather with STRONG tp’s but is on the small side. then I have two 32’’ star choice dishes and two 32 ‘’ no name dishes I am getting AMC16/G17/G19 and Amc4 with them. Then I have 36’’fortec star for AMC9.this dish is on a run of 300 ft. And I have a 38’’ no name dish for AMC21. I have an 18’’circular l n b on echo7 but nothing there anymore.
I scrounged all but the fortec dish. I call it hobo t v . my wife says I don’t know how lucky I am. But I do!

Bigger the dish defiantly the better. I am going to set up a motor next summer. If I ever get the trees dealt with I would like a 4foot ku dish with motor and a c-band dish would look good beside it.
I also have a captive works receiver I hardly ever use that works well.
And it all started with a 18’’ dish pointing at nimiq 4 I think it was.

My stb's are a pansat 3500 and a cs6100, but mainly used the 3500 due its better blindscan, the other boxed is used when a weak signal is find it, since appears to be more stable with low signals than the pansat. Three Ku dishes 34" with universal lnb from chaparral (Locked on 30W), 30" with linear lnb (find it at flea market), and a 36" intl dave w/linear lnb (also from flea market). With the last two dishes scanning fro 72w to 116.5W where the most feeds are located.

P.D. soonly a 10' unimesh with a dual feed (ortho) from Cal Amp (started but not finished yet).

If you are going to try a standard linear L N B F for the fun of it, I have found that a cheep $10-20 dollar one’s work well . maybe less at the flea market.

Hi paul, i change the missing info on the post, you'll never know what can you find on the flea market or the garage sales, my pansat is from there 10dlls, that day almost buy a fortec LU at 40dlls of a craiglist seller, but found the pansat earlier and never called the other guy, just an email to apology.

Have used both receivers to blind scan most birds in my arc. It is nicer IMO to start with a good Tp though. My 36" is connected to my sonicview via diseqc and this is how I scan with it. Have yet to try my Nano2 I won from here. Gave it a quick try last week but got busy at other things. Have yet to solve Ip issues with pci lan.

Having just dialup, my sonicview is working okay and I'm not getting my secondary pci LAN to work. Took 30 days to get the nano2, in the meantime I got my 36" with motor and linear lnb so that's my new toy at the moment. Looking into getting a wifi dish, router and an open AP. Would make life easier but, have to save up...

CS6k for blindscan's, 39" dish c/w SG2100 motor & QPH 013 Invacom.
When I find HD feeds I just transfer the info into my nfusion HD to make use of it,
other than that the CS6k works pretty darn good and I have always maintained that it has the
best SD picture out there IMO

p.s. Great idea on the thread costactc :)

If you ever come across a CS6k at a good deal I think you will like both the blind scan and great picture quality on this unit.

Used my cs6k for blind scanning last year- very good, one of the best if not the best. I'm using it for r-link now so not part of my true fta setup.
