Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Buffalo Sabres general manager Darcy Regier announced Thursday that towering rookie defenseman Tyler Myers will remain with the club and not return to his junior team, the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League.
Myers, taken 12th overall in 2008, has two goals and five points over the season's first nine games. The 19-year-old's plus-8 rating is second amongst first-year players.
Under league rules, a player's entry-level contract kicks in once he appears in his 10th NHL game.
