Don't be too hard on me, but what exactly is IPTV? I am trying to understand what it is that people are paying a monthly donation for.

I would think one would simply get an apple or android device that you can put xbmc on. After the one time cost of the device itself, there are no fees to pay since with the xbmc, you have access to pretty much anything you could possibly want (tv shows, movies, events, live channels).

There seems to be quite the market for this IPTV. Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance

I think the difference is these are more organized than the androids. So, any user can simply switch ch. by ch. Otherwise, you will need to look and find it. This is mostly live tvs, and VOD with lots of movies (xbmc stuff I think).
