I think it’s from the early to mid-60s
An astronaut crashes on the moon and is found by some insectoid aliens who show him their world under the surface. After sometime maybe years he is rescued and taken back to earth, no one believes him about the aliens until years later when another mission is sent back to the moon and finds the remains of the now dead alien civilization.

Nope nothing so far. the movie take place in the 70s or 80s. The last scene from the movie is the first man to the moon is watching a live broadcast of the second mission to the moon when they find the dead alien civilization and it starts to fell in on it's self.

Sure sounds like the movie your trying to describe i saw it when it came out in a walkin theater for 25cents
and 3 coke bottle caps was the Center theater in Centerville Fremont Ca. used to have raffles at intermission.
One of the prizes was a packet of Fizzies!How do i know that,i won!
