new dish question

i got a 18x24 motorized dish from a bud anybody tried a motor with a v7 or should i just hook up the motor in the house and see what happens i know my v3 wouldn't turn the motor, lack of power i guess.

It's the receiver that turns the motor not the version number.

If the reciver is rated to 500 mA on the LNB port then it should work, the receiver needs to be setup correctly for the motor.

Running a V7 myself with motor and works like a charm.
