After KO losses to Nicholas Walters and Nonito Donaire at featherweight, former world champion and fan favorite Vic “Raging Bull” Darchinyan (39-7-1, 28 KOs) will drop back down to the super bantamweight division. On Saturday, Darchinyan faces Juan “El Penita” Jimenez (19-8, 12 KOs) at the Domo del Palacio Municipal in Chetumal, Mexico, in a bout airing live on Televisa and Fox Deportes.
Headlining the Golden Boy Promotions/Cancun Boxing card is former WBA interim super lightweight champion Pablo Cesar “El Demoledor” Cano (27-4-1, 20 KOs) against Jorge “Pantera” Silva (20-6-2, 16 KOs) in a 10-round welterweight bout. Opening up the telecast is undefeated middleweight Antonio “La Joya” Gutierrez (17-0-1, 7 KOs) against seasoned fighter Gilberto “Gil” Flores (23-14, 18 KOs) in a six-rounder.
