A Brampton, Ontario, boy got way more than he expected in an Angry Birds toy he bought at Target. After opening the box, the five year old and his mom discovered a bag of marijuana.
Monika Milewska, the boy's mother, had given her son $5 to spend at a local Target store on Wednesday. He chose an Angry Birds Telepod game. According to CTV News, Milewska helped her son open the box: "I went to hand him everything and noticed something unusual on the couch. Upon further inspection, it looked like marijuana."
After showing her husband and mother, the quick-thinking mom took the drugs to Peel Regional Police. "The police suggested it was about 85 grams," she told CP24. That's $850 worth of pot, if it sold at $10 per gram on the street. The toy cost the little boy $5.41, with tax.
Brampton police did search the store, which is located at the Bramalea City Centre, on Thursday evening for more drugs, but none were found. Target also replaced the toy for the boy.
The event has caused Milewska's son to ask a lot question. In an interview with CP24, she said: "He could not sleep on his own and kept asking us questions: Why it was in his toy? Who put it there? What was it? I guess Target lived up to their slogan, 'expect more, pay less'."
